just finished building it up friday.
it's got grips, a headlight, and a taillight now too.
other than that, it's rocking:
175 ultegra cranks/bb (isis syle)
42t ultegra chainring
16t cog (when more parts get in next week it'll be either 18t or 20t, gonna have to play around a bit to decide)
time-atac pedals with a cut-up frying pan with grip tape on one side for regular shoes
specialized borough xc pro tires (700x45)
tektro wide-profile canti brakes
tektro levers that can be adjusted to short-pull
mavic cxp22 rims laced to crappy shimano hubs (32 straight gauge spokes)
on one mary bar with about 2" chopped off each end
bianchi post
selle san marco era saddle
very short stem with a lot of rise, about to be replaced with a raceface 110mm 5deg stem
cane creek s3 headset
54cm surly cross check frame

Slick pimp ride. I appreciate the brews behind the back wheel. You like SS on the road?

SS seems to work fine on the roads. i had a 42 to 14t setup on my commuter, but i drunkenly wrecked it REAL bad and bent the frame. a lot of the parts made it onto this build. everything feels great, tight, and dialed except the wheels. i'm thinking about putting a lighter set on, and as i mentioned before. chainging up the gear ratio to something more suitable to offroad use.

Very sweet creation, G. But when I look at those pedals, all I can think about is blood and tetanus. Take file to those corners, will ya?

Awesome bike.
Perhaps, when healed, I can take a spin? I've been thinking a Crosscheck might be the easiest way to get the rear tire clearance I want in a MonsterCross bike.
And hey, don't I need to buy you a beer for your birthday? ;)

of course! but time's running out. i leave for australia july 12th, so heal fast.
we'll have to go to ledgend's after a ride once you get better. also if you're looking for something to do this evening my roomate and i decided about an hour ago to have a cookout. dunno how many people will come since it's short notice and they're calling for rain, but whatever.
buddhak- you think those look worse than those spikey platform pedals? my shins are already covered in scars, i'm not too worried about it.
