hello people, as i said im a newbie in here... i used to be pretty involved with mountain bikes and bmx bikes.... i grew up them. since then i've got in to off road motor sports and started building a toyota prerunner.....long story short... i ve recently bought a used matching pair of giant xtc's hardtail bikes from my father in law. they are basically brand new only ridden a few times. as i said im kinda in the dark about the newer bikes and what to look for and what to run away from. they looked pretty stout to me.... if anyone know about this model let me know whats good/bad and what i need to upgrade. thanks alot.

If they are truly "almost brand new" stick with the saying: if it ain't broke don't fix it. Don't drop any coin on upgrades, right out of the box.
Ride. Get to know the bikes, and if something proves to not meet your standards, then selectively upgrade.
Enjoy.

Reputation and $3.85 will get you a grande mocha at Starbucks. :D
You got a new bike, bro. Enjoy it and don't sweat over the rep. :)

I agree with K Man.
But if you must, you can read reviews of that model here;

OK, review. My friend has an '05 Yukon. He loves it. He mainly uses it for commuting, but he has ridden the same trails as me, at about the same pace. The bike worked fine. The really cool thing about bikes is, it really isn't the bike that matters. Give me an 18lbs. carbon fiber uberbike with every gadget under the sun and give Geoff Kabush a $60 Next. We'll line up any day of the week and he will stomp me into the ground. A bike can only do what you tell it ;)
Enjoy :D
