Yeah ,
After looking for the rim for months, it looks like it will be hard to find.
I have a 1987 American Montaneus with original era XT parts. (kinda cool) When I bought the bike at a used bike store in '95 the rear rim was bent so I changed it and now for collectors purposes I can't find it. Bummers....

Tell me more about what this rim looks like. I've got the original wheel off an 86 Dakota that came with Stag-head Deore components. The rim is silver, with an almost semi-circular profile, but just has an Araya sticker on it. Its. That sound about right?

I have 4 - 25 inch super hard anodized bike rims with no spokes. I can add spokes if you need. It is a tubular rim. If you email me at michaelsauble@comcast.net, I can send you pictures. The label on the rim says Aero 4. Let me know if I can be any help.:cool:
