well at the motorcycle forum i frequent it is proper to introduce your self.
well i am in the AF and am stationed in west Germany. the trails over here seem great. i dont know i have been not riding for about a year now. i broke my frame and dislocated my shoulder on a trail in south Korea. my arm is healed but i just now got a new frame so i am in the process of rebuilding. it is a 1999 mongoose nx 5.3
most of my time is trying to get a knee down on my zx7r ninja. i really love anything with two wheels. i have a trick bike and would get a road bike if i had an extra grand

Hi Nospeed, I am with you on the two wheel thing. I've had motorcycles in the past but sold the last one to round out my bike collection - now I'm looking for another bike. Kawasaki's are a favorite of mine, I've considered a ZR7.

Welcome everyone, there seems to be a surge of new members, which is good. Be sure to fill out your profile. If you put down your birthday, it goes into the calendar and on that day the Dirt Rag Headquarters does a ride in your name.
And what is really cool...Man...afterwards...T-girl has a bbq with an excellent margarita mix.
just one more perk from D.R.
well....the part about the calendar is true. Maybe someday the bbq

You know the forum is a success when they start getting a paying advertiser doing a banner ad at the top of the forum page.
I think you are suppose to put your bank account in your profile so on your birthday they can deposit some of the money they are getting

Angelo,
You my friend, are an idea-man. Now that you are a senior member you may have some additional clout around here.
Maybe we could get a special "birhtday price" on some Dirt Rag pint glasses or other schwag.;)

You just need to hack the system if you want to be the senior guy.
Did you hear, when it is your birthday there is a bbq at DR HQ, and only the birthday boy or girl get's to take their pint home (and often a member of the opposite gender association).

Oh, so if the West Coasters travel out there for a ride on their birthday you will through a party in their honor? Right on man!

09-17-2002, 10:53 PM
Jeff,
Just because we are having a party in their name...we don't have to expect them.
More keg time for us.
Not to mention, DR HQ has all those demo bikes to ride...ALL FOR US HOOOOhooo

Hi Kids,
I'm new here, too. I was on another forum and got sick of feeling like I was in day care. This one looks appealing after thumbing through it. I've been reading the 'Rag since its inception, so this is only fitting to pop up here.
I promise to behave.

Angelo,
Or should I say Mr. Secretary
I guess I need to hack the system to become an intern trainee too.
What is this about DR having demo bikes around? Is that true?
Welcome J-devil and other new members.
This Casaba is beginning to Rock.

I think Dirt Rag should pick up lock-stock-and-barrel and move to Bozeman, MT. (Which, BTW, home to ski area Big Sky and can now boast the most vertical ft. of any ski area in the continental U.S.)

Of course they have bikes around (I seen them with my own eyes), it's like a tree they have in the basement with bike hanging from them, Karl is off to the side pruning them, but most are ready for the picking.
All those bike companies send bikes to be reviewed, after a few beers at the DR Reader Appreciation Party, you just kind of 'borrow' one.
If you are waiting for a free bike, you can play video games with 'rice
do you want to be in charge of the MT Reader Appreciation Party?

It sounds like the Promised Land.
Of course I'd like to be in charge of the MT reader appreciation party!
Sounds like the oppurtunity of a lifetime! Either that or I'm just a big sucker. What can I do to help the Party?
Who is 'rice? I'm not waiting for anyone to give me a bike. I'm getting a Titus racer-X next spring, (or something similar) even if I have to sell my eldest daughter.

Unfortunately, it seems like half the country is doing just that! Of course, Kalispell, Couer d'alene and Walla Walla (http://www.sunset.com/sunset/Premium/Travel/2002/03-Mar/BestPlaces0302/WallaWalla0302.html) are all hot spots at the moment. Boy, the East is sounding good. Oh, don't forget Bridger Bowl! Another great Bozeman ski area for those who hate to rub shoulders with Greg Lemond and Ted Turner.

Mebbe so, but the same was true 20 years ago. I can't count the number of friends from high school that moved out west. Myself among them, though for different reasons.

'rice (pronounced reese, I think) is Maurice's Son. In the Old Dirt Rag Days you got to see 'rice move from big wheel to training wheels to rocking the casaba.
Since DR is so into the "World Tour" the least they can do is have a East Coast AND West Coast Reader Appreciation Party.
I Nominated mohaka to the West Coast Planning Party of the 2003 Dirt Rag World Tour ....do I have a second?

Man, I don't feel sorry for anyone that is going to be in Germany for Oktoberfest. And, well, Idaho doesn't really count - so MT may as well be on the West coast.

Sun Valley's nice I hear. And my brother lives in Boise. So I kinda like Idaho. Never been there mind you, though I tried once. Ran outta gas in Rock Springs, WY. Now there's a garden spot!

I meant East Coast as in east of the Mississippi, You can't make the soul riders in Wisconsin drive ALL the way to the coast...can you

Boise is nice, great year round riding - a good friend of mine lives there. In fact, I get tired of hearing about how Outside (or some other magazine) voted it the best back spot on earth. Boy, this thread is sort of all over the place isn't it?:D

got me on that one...I am just the secretary...who wants to be incharge of that commitee?
My suggestion would be...the next new guy, who says, "Hi I'm the new guy, let me introduce myself." make him incharge.
