on January 30 the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission realeased a notice of availability of a Draft Environmental Assessment for the Feather River Project-2100. this may be viewed on the frec web library at www.ferc.gov .
basicly this commission is saying equestrians have a right to ride on public lands without being bothered by pesky mountain bikers.
that we detract from their "peacefull experince". the assessment lacks any meaningfull studies, relying only on quotes from hikers and equestrians from a local guide book.
Also the California Department of Parks and Recreation is being told it did not play fair when it did not ask permission from a local FERC created advisory board, a board that DPR has ignored for years.
there are other stupid reasons too, best you read for yourselves as I do not paraphrase well.
please send comments in support of shared use trails at Lake Oroville State Recreation Arae, or FERC project - 2100 to;
Secretary, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
888 First Street, NE
Washington, DC. 20426

and this is federal folks, so don't think it does not affect you!!!

[QUOTE]equestrians have a right to ride on public lands without being bothered by pesky mountain bikers.[ etc.../QUOTE]

We're getting this line of malarkey and false logic in our local quest for equitable trail access, too.

Although the singletrack is a little too buffered for most tastes Tsali in North Carolina has a cool idea.2 sets of trails.On 1 day set 'a' is for horses and 'b' for mtb.The next day it switches.
