Specialized is not making a women's version of their Pro MTB shoes.
Women's comp (http://www.specialized.com/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=5350&JServSessionIdroot=n0r6fljy10.j27005)
Men's pro shoe (http://www.specialized.com/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=5327&JServSessionIdroot=dw8povk020.j27008)
Hmm...good thing I wear a 42.

I don't know if you're missing out, honestly. Buckles just get broken, or caked with dirt, or whatever. I am testing a shoe with four straps (no buckles) and the fit is fantastic.

Sorry Polly! I'm having trouble getting my brain around your 30" inseam as well. I'm 6' and my inseam is only 33".

it's true - I promise, - if i remember correctly from a bike review she did, Thanita is of similar dimensions to myself.. whereas Jeff is the same height, but being a guy probably has shorter legs?

I believe my inseam is 28.75" which is rather standard for my height. I know of at least one female friend who isn't much taller and has a 33" inseam (or so she says...I didn't check).

Oh Jeff...I've used Dominator's for many years now, and have to say that I love the buckles. I just got some of the Shimano winter boots that aren't available in the US which just have Velcro straps. They are nice but I like the leverage afforded by the buckles.

slinks off and sulks because my legs are too short
Thought I'd be safe on here (",)

My Sidi's rock. The buckles are sweet, even though I've had to replace them a few times.
And Sidi has a great winter boot now, too.

Apparently replacement buckles are available (from lulafree's post).
Cyclenaut, you could buy some replacment buckles and rivet them to the shoes of your choice. Not as convenient as buying shoes buckles installed, but it shouldn't be a difficult task to do the modification.
I know that this type repair is common with ski boots....and the cycling buckles are descendents of ski boot buckles.

Thanks JH.
I'm set for shoes myself, and since my feet are a size 42 I can' wear men's shoes.

Sidi warranties their shoes and will replace buckles for free. So if you're ready for a new shoe yet, check into those maybe. Otherwise see if you can do like jhl99 says until those shoes wear out.

I don't think it was me that said I needed new buckles, guys. I have Dominator's that I love. They're fine!
Good looking out though, guys!
