I've already commented a little bit but to get specific...
I really like all three reviews and all for the same reasons. Details. What you liked and what you did to make these rides better. I could give a rats ass what you didn't like just tell me how to make it better. Let's be honest. No stock bike comes with everything to suit your needs. The adjustments and why you made them are important for us less experienced guys that haven't had the opportunity to experiment. This is what I look for in reviews, stuff I can use whether or not it be on that specific 29er or ss or whatever . You provide great product info but you give that little extra insight and it makes the whole review. I am partial to reviews by riders that are my size but the mag covers a bunch of people sizes and we can't all be 6'2". On a side note, are fork prices just way out of control? At those prices, I'll keep my '98 Judy around for a spare. And how can a $1200 specialized have a $700 sherman and still be priced at $1200? Somebody's getting the shaft and I think it's the guy buying the fork aftermarket.

maurice, nice that you asked for feedback, which i've got in two categories, general and specific. general about DR reviews, they are so head and shoulders above any other reviews i've ever read. i've read (on and off) bicycling, mountain bke, MBA, bike, for over ten years, and i've never come close to having a connection to the individual writers and his/her personalities as i hav with multiple DR staff (poss excepton of Zap) and I like that. also yr reviews are so much longer; bike gives like 250 words to a review! also i like that you review a really wide range of bikes, eg the burley commuter bike, brad's jamie IRO fixie, etc. when i read a DR review, i check the reviewer and then know a little bit about who's doing the writing.
specific, so then i had the experience of reading a review of a bike that i'm fairly intending to buy--the fisher 292. i demoed a 293 at Pedros' fest New england and fell in love, like a new crush. for a week or two it felt like i was dating a new woman, i kept thinking of the way it felt nad cornered and climbed -it wsa my first time on a 29er--loved it-- . . so i read yr review and felt a little bit more filled in on the nitty gritty that you don't get either from catalogs or personal experience. for me the stuff about how you needed some burlier parts wasn't really relevant (not a clydesdale) but hey, i liked knowing a little about who i was reading, so i don't mind that. the review didn't convince me one way or the other--i'll need to ride one again to be sure--but it gave me more fodder to help make an informed decision, and for that i thank you. PS love the rag, have loved it for years, and i think writing the reiews and workign at DR must be one of the greatest gigs in the world. you've created a very nice community. thanks.

looking forward to the speedgoat;s review, if i had another "criticism", rather, another suggestion, i wish that EVERY DR review would include the weight as tested; i think it matters to a lot of us (matters to me), and i know MOST do, but perhaps every single one could . . . okay, that's it. can't wait for the next ish. i really like how many reviewers describe the terrain in which they tested a bike, and i LOVe when they say, i raced it, commuted, toured, 24 hr raced, etc. let's me know they'll really putting it through its paces. i'll likely buy one mt bike every five years for the next however long--one bike per 35 issues, give our take 7 or 14 issues--and i dig that you guys are spending the time on each bike. good work.
