You Can Get Paid To Ride Your Bike To Work
There is a Bicycle Commuter Act (HR 1265) in congress which proposes that bicycle commuters get a $65.00-per-month tax benefit for using alternative means of transportation such as cycling to work. This finally gives some validity to what cyclists already know about the benefits of cycling. You can check out the bill by going to www.senate.gov and entering HR 1265 in the search box for bills.
something worth checking out

This would truly be cool. I commute about 8 months a year (throw in laziness and cold) but it would still be a good chunk of change even at that level. Hopefully it will pass- it appears to have gone to Ways and Means sometime in 2001. I can't seem to get any additional status from the senate site.

Thanks for the info!
