Hey...I'm getting a new Jamis Coda Comp this week and of course I will TRY the seat that it comes with, but If I have to change it out....could anyone tell me what's my 'Safest Choice' to try??? I KNOW it's a Personal thing and all and I KNOW that this subject has been talked about many times before, but I tried doing a search and could only find ONE post. SO....has anyone tried the Terri Butterfly Tri Gel? SInce the seats with the cut outs seem to start at around $40 and then go all up to over $100, I'm wondering how much you actually have to spend to get a really nice seat. If anyone has tried the middle of the row and thought it was great, I'd like to hear that too. And of course it doesn't have to be the 'Butterfly Collection', :) any brand that's not TOO Hard and feels good will do. We'll be riding mostly paved roads, not racing, but I'd still like something inbetween a Cruiser seat and a Racing Seat that's comfortable, if possible.
So...any input from the "EXPERIENCED" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The womens Selle Italia are nice. I've had one for about 2 years now and I'm super happy with it to this day. I like a split seat.

hi Divscotty! I think I want the split seat also. Have you ever tried the new Terri Butterfly Tri Gel...would you compare this Selle Seat to that one? Would you have a model number so I can go look it up? Or is it just called Woman's Selle Italia? THANKS! fox

The seat has held up real well and has approximately 2300 miles of dirt under it and I cannot see any numbers but their are some words left on the rear of the seat Gel Flow on one side and TransAm on the other side. It's a leather seat with no seams where it wears, split seat (much cooler), magnesium rails, it's a gel seat however it's not squisy it's pretty firm. It is women's specific and I paid about 85 dollars for it.

I had a split ladies seat before that cost about 45 bucks. It was very comfortable, not leather, it had a little plastic cap like deal, on the nose of the saddle. During a crash that hard little plastic piece tried to become very intimate, then on another crash it poked me in the back. Also the nose was not long enough to scooch forward-on cause my GF was a little light in the front end on uphill sections. I now use that one on my commuter bike. (My RM ETSX's front end is glued to the dirt.) Pokey hard edges or hard parts on a saddle are just asking for trouble from my experience.

My LBS suggested it to me, ordered it (not typically a stock saddle high end women's items sit on the shelf too long), gave it to me for 2 weeks to try said if I don't like it bring it back.

I highly recommend it. I can take a picture of it next Tuesday or Wednesday if you would like and post it. If that is not enough information. I'm off line til then.

Happy Riding to you.

My wife proseltyzes the WTB Speed She to her riding friends. She has an old Terry racing saddle on her hardtail, but needed a new saddle for a parts-bike and picked up a steel-railed "She" on a special. It looks big and cushy compared to her Terry, but is apparently both "ungooey" and very comfortable. Now, she's got the Ti version on her Blur and gave the Team version out to her riding buddies for Christmas. There's her endorsement.

Mine is that the Speed She ti rail version weighs like a freakin' feather. It's weird when you pick it up. Not "roadie saddle light", but lighter than my WTB Pure Stealth.

My partner has ridden Terry (not that model though), and some other brands. I bought her a Selle Italia Atola Gel-around a few months ago for a gift. She loves it more than any of the others.
