Hola Divscotty and mohaka! I ride two different bikes offroad these days. I have an old (ca 1995)Diamondback apex that has about 6k miles on it. However, these days, i am riding a redline monocog almost exclusively. there arent very many trails near my home here in mississippi, so I mostly do urban assault riding. I do make it to one of the trail systems about twice a month. ASa matter of fact, I was out at Forest Hills this past weekend and I shaved two minutes off my best time. The trail is mostly rolling singletrack in a loop about 5 miles long. WEll, thats about all i can think of to write for now, so talk to ya'll later.

Hi Pathtek,
I've heard those redlines are sweet bikes.
I'm in the process of building up a SS road bike-mostly for cruisin' around town.
I had a fun ride yesterday. Nothing unusual, no crashes or tricks, just a sunny day and a good time cruisin' some of the sweet singletrack around here in MT.
Cheers

Yeah, the Redline is a pretty smooth bike, especially for one that can be built up for about $500. Ive been riding it full rigid, but im thinking about putting a sus fork on it. Ive noticed that my hands get numb after about 30 minutes in the saddle...and I do wear gloves. What flavor of roadie ss are you building up?

I don't do much on roads except to ride to work and back. Gads it was hot today coming home. Off road is real easy out here, that is my preference. We are headed up to the Sister's area of Oregon. If you have ever heard of it you know the beauty we are headed into. I'm goign to check out my favorite trail and see if the high mountain snow is off yet. Was still there over Memorial day weekend. Last year we rode it early May. Lots more snow this year.

I'm building up a no-name kinda ss from an old steel frame that I got from my Mother-in-law. Actually, it's not a no-name, it is a Brittany Spirit, I never heard of it. It was a ten speeder. Now, it will be saved from a fate worse than neglect and rust. I just have to get a new rear hub and wheel, a flat stem and drop handle-bars and she'll be ready to rock and roll!
Cheers
