I need some Concord area riders to become involved in the biggest new management area in New England. This project is about to get off the ground and I need you.

The management area is 10,000 acres, yes ten thousand. Some new trails are flagged and two trails need to be maintained and upgraded. You can be proud when you ride these trails to think that you gave back and are able to reap the rewards of your hard labor.

The development of this trail system will take months maybe years to complete. IMBA and NEMBA will have involvement in this project.

Please feel free to contact me.

Can I jack the thread for just a minute, Mink?

Looks like I'll be up in Henniker for Thanksgiving. Not sure exactly when to when yet. And I'm not even sure if I'll be stopping in Jersey beforehand. If I do (and thus, packing bike in my car) might you be around for a ride?

Here's me: slow, ok on most technical stuff but wuss out easily, riding a hardtail, really slow, not a good climber (in that I'm slow), oh, and I'm pretty slow.

No really...Slllllooooowwww.

Threadjack over.

I don't think i'll bite on the slow comments. I would be happy to do a ride. Also check out pics of past Turkey Burner rides at www.fomba.com, I don't think they have posted details of this years ride yet. Hopefully we won't be buried with snow but if we are it means a softer landing when we crash.

If we did a ride in the Mink's we could depart from "the only Henniker on earth" and ride up into Warner.

Honest, I'm not just saying that to be all impressive with any actual speed I might possess, I really am very slow. I like to look around when I'm on the mountain bike.

I like to look around when I'm on the mountain bike. Our riding styles sound much the same, plenty of vista's and things to see in the Minks, pics from today's ride, including a rare pic of the Mink.

That looks lovely. Too bad the leaves will be well gone by then.

That looks lovely. Too bad the leaves will be well gone by then.Yeah but the good thing about it is that it will open up some more views from the higher elevations.

I went to the bikeshop in Henniker today to let them know what is going on with the local trail project and ask for their support and the sign on the door said "Closed for the season".

Work has started on the new trails, brush cutting is taking place for a few hours on weekends as long as conditions allow.
