Ask this question on the mtbr 29er board, I think I've seen a few out there.

Yeah, what's up? Did you run a search here? I think I've already posted some stuff.

After seeing more and more big wheels out in the woods I have come to the conclusion that one of these bikes is in my future. I'm debating the Karate Monkey vs a Dambala. I've talked to a few KM owners and no one has bad things to say, other than heavy and funky disc mount drop out.
The Voodoo seems a bit lighter, nicer tubing, 853 vs 4130, nice sliding drops, and a bit more refined.
I found your write up woogin, maybe an up date?

Wool, it seems your photos from your first post are no longer around.

Dang. Completely missed this. Just got back from 2 hours in N. GA on the Voodoo and continue to be impressed with the bike and 29" wheels in general. I blew out the fork at the beginning of the ride and spent the rest of the time with 0 travel. Even with the resulting steep head angle the bike still rolled over all the baby heads. That was a good thing since they were buried under leaves and invisible. The only downside to the Voodoo was the mud clearance at the chainstays. I've fixed that by trimming off the outer knobs on my tires. No more gumming up today in pretty nasty conditions than I'd expect on any other bike.
I think you'll be happy with either. If money is an issue go with the KM. If weight matters or you don't want to screw around with adjusting your disc brakes whenever you swap out the cog, the Voodoo may be a better choice.
