Long time reader, first time poster...(or is that poseur?)

About a month or so ago I converted my old GT Karakoram mountain bike frame into a fixed-gear commuting bike, which was no easy task with vertical dropouts in the rear, but I'm working on that. I was so jazzed after a week of riding without shifting, I decided I needed a SS mountain bike, as stripping the Karry of the ghettofenders and such to put on a freewheel and rear brake could get to be a hassle. Anyway, long story short, I just got a 2001 Bianchi C.u.S.S. off ebay, all stock, except front brake (Avid Arch Rival), and handlebar (Easton MonkeyLite XC 1.5" riser). Think I'm going to like it. Should get to me in a week - week and a half or so.

I'd post a picture, but haven't figured out how to do that yet...

I just got back into biking in a big way this year after about 3 years of severely neglecting my bikes. Finally back to riding, commuting, racing, goofing off on 2 wheels (and sometimes one, and sometimes none), and just about finding my religion on two wheels.

Welcome. Since the irrepressible (I thought) AC seems to be on sabbatical, let me ask the question that I'm sure everyone will be dying to know the answer to. Just what multitool do you carry? :)

A red swiss army knife, of course. along with some hex keys and tire levers, but I never leave the house without my swiss army knife. Ever. I feel naked without it.

JETHRO TULE...FOOL...opens beers...takes tires off the lesser of gears. being the nature of the ss is non technicality, if any other nut, bolt, cable, brake pad trouble should arise, is sit back dream of cracking open a cold, lukewarm, or blazing hot one, cuz u know i dont have one in my camelbak, and wait for my geared friends to break out the sausage and peppers of the park tool array, chain breaks, wire cutters, hex heads, screwdrivers, crank pullers, etc...

The Jethro tule rocks, and I even have a specially modified version. Sadly, the first time I really, really, needed it, I was stuck without. Thankfully I broke down in front of a hardware store (Busy Beaver... oh yeah) but since then I leave the crescent wrench in my toolbox and Jethro in my messenger bag.
