I've got an older ('99) Klein with the MC3 headset. I'd like to reduce it down so that I can use a 1 1/8 steer tube fork with the frame. Apparently, the bearing press kits for the MC3 headsets came with some spacers that will do the job for me. I've checked with local Klein dealers and noboby has a press kit- anyone else out there?

If you can help me out, email me and I can reward you handsomely or hook you up with some Dirt Rag schwag-

Check page 64 - service of MC3 Headset. Hope this helps.

Did you try calling Klein direct?

http://cambriabike.com/head_sets/headsets.htm

has an adapter for 39 bucks listed under alloy reducers.

No, I don't work for them. Just had that page embedded in some leftover grey matter.

Thanks, guys. That tech manual will be great to have. The Cambria adapter I asked Klein about, and they said it only works for older Klein headsets. I have called Klein and they have been very vague about the whole thing. It's a little disappointing. I managed to get ahold of the parts numbers that I need to order the adapter, so maybe that will help things get rolling.
