View Full Version : "Idle legs are the Devil's playthings..."
Is that how the song goes? Has anyone noticed what a pain it is when there is just too much in the way of snow and ice to your right, and your forced to follow traffic, inhaling fumes moving at their speed during rush hour, thinking to yourself, " man, if it was warmer, I would haul ass right past you mofo's, and start taking names." In the mean time, I think I've developed a sick obsession with the flavor of rock salt sprayed onto my face. How very S&M.

Yeah, I think I'm getting a little taste of that. Although I'm riding from East Liberty out to DRHQ, so there aren't too many times where I'm stuck behind slow moving vehicles. Felt good to ride this morning- I almost wish I had done it yesterday.

Man, I was a bit too whooped from night riding (actually, a lot of night hiking) in Riverview to even get up before 10am, let alone pedal my lame ass in to work... Yinz guys be careful out there, though... Max, man, you gotta control that road rage... he he he...
Where's riverview, brother. It sounds super familiar. Were your toes frozen from being locked to a piece of medal for a few hours? Hey, Sunday, if you can, pop into D's. I'll be working there Sunday Night. Does the cold affect night riding battery systems? Labor, Max.

Max, sorry missed you on Sunday... How was 7-Springs?
As for batteries, yeah, they say that cold weather can lessen the amount of juice available in your batteries. However, I've never had a problem with that yet, and t the best of my knowledge the cold has no bearing on the lamp and other electronics.
How was your ride this morning? I found it pleasantly cold today, unlike that less-than-ten weather last week.
7 Springs was perfect. Conditions were nice. Plenty of snow. Went Snowboarding all day until around 10:00 at night, and then just got my drink on. How was your Saturday ride?

It was sick and tough. After breakfast at Charlies (in Will kill yinz burg) Hammer, Don and I slugged it out with six inches of snow on the Frick Park singletrack. Eventually we decided to head for some less harrowing trails and cruised all the way down to the Mon and back. After refueling at D's, Hammer and I cruised the city and met Burns at the shop for a bike repair session. All in all a fine day.
Word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey, thanks for the info on the lights, brother. I'm working Tuesday night, come in if you can.

It hasen't snowed here yet but today was a great ride! I was running late and i was about to drive but i haven't for 3 weeks now and i didn't want to give up today. I decided to ride and i was lucky I did! when I was on my way to school traffic was packed and was basicily at a standstill. I love the feeling of flying past traffic and being on time on what most consider to be a lesser mode of transportation. We know the truth about bikes. See ya in the bike shop!

Right on. Today was my 30th consecutive work day commuting. Broke my old record by 23 days, haha. I plan to keep going. Even rode last Thursday, when the measly few inches of snow paralyzed the area. I was in the office when people with SUV's stayed home. Keep it up!
A coworker commented that "It must suck" riding to work, especially in the cold weather. I looked at him and said it's not so bad and is actually quite fun, and asked him when was the last time he pulled a wheelie on his drive to work (mine was this morning). He laughed and commented back, "You're gonna kill yourself riding so much!" To which I replied, "I'll die trying, at least....;) "
