Anybody out there set up their KM as a fixie? How was the experience? What was your set up: bars, hubs, crankset, tires, etc. I'm considering giving fix a try and modification of my KM will probably be my least expensive option. If it rocks (and I think it will) then I'll probably build up an old '70's road frame for an ongoing fixie fix. :)

I think issue No. 106 had a KM reviewed and fixed was one of the many faces (like Mr. Potato Head) it had in the review.

Um, now that I think of it that was a Cross Check. But I think Maurice in a more recent issue had a review of the KM as a fixie. Dang, I'm going to have to start carrying my DR library everywhere now. :D

No Dirt Rag features an article on a fixed Karate Monkey. Maurice does not ride fixed gear.

The CrossCheck mentioned above is mine.

:o oops. Sorry, I was mistaken. My age is starting to show. Next thing you know I'll forget to zip my pants up after hitting the head. But like my dad always says, that's better than forgetting to unzip first.

Sorry for the misleading info.

I have a Cross Check set up single for around town. I'm getting fatter tires for it for summer and may fix it then.

Every one should get their Monkeys fixed. This prevents their being so many unwanted monkeys at the pound. :D
