I dont know about anyone else, but the 12 mile ride into town on the highway can be a bit irritating on certain days. You know those situations where there are several cars coming towards you, nothing behind you, and some bright, intelligent ass decides to pass the slower car in front of him, regardless of the fact that you are the oncoming traffic.
It isnt exactly a thrill having an oncoming car passing you within inches going over 70mph. Ive been run off the road before, the worst was a giant dualie diesel truck that must have been doing 90, he passed me so close he almost touched my rear view mirror, i was basically blown off the road.
Any other situations like this anyone has experienced? I have never been doored but this happens to me all the time

This is one thing I really dislike on the highway. There isn't a damn think you can do aside from flipping them off and making sure you life insurance policy is up to date.

I'm able to stay off big 2-lanes like this on my commute which is mostly across different flavors of cityscape. I've caught a door a couple times (never completely unaware, so I've avoided serious injury), so I guess that's what we face, though I'd take the door if I get to choose.

Yeah, i almost always use the finger when i see it coming, first I give a reaally big flip off, sometimes with both hands, then i grab the bars for control in the wake of the car passing. Usually when i see the potential of this situation arising i ride several feet to the left of the white line, to keep the idea out of the oncoming traffics mind.
I occassionally when in a bad mood have even been known to send a flying loogie into the path of the vehicles windshield, im sure it makes quite an impact at 70mph
