Just a thought or two. Did you ever notice how much it sucks inhaling bus fumes for a good while and then playing in traffic. Perhaps in my more tragically hip(not the band from Toronto) days, I would of said, "Woohoo, Yeah! Then I'll top it off with a few Whip-It's and the Dank Nugs, but now, older, wiser, attempting to be a tax payer, huffing bus fumes on your way to work is about as much fun as a John Tesh concert even with the dueling pianos. One thing I've learned about busses. You can get around them, weave in and out, nearly colide with passengers while they are getting on and off, hit them while pulling away from curbs, but at the end of the day you must respect them. Not in a sort of George Washington founding forefather's over the top patriotic bum-lick sort of way, but rather, a US-USSR cold war sort of way. Collision could occur at any time. Sure, I could run into a bus at any moment, but guys are impressed by big shiny noise makers, how else would one explain SUV's and the ever fragile male ego. But it sure is a rush to race with one, move to the left lain, and haul ass right past. Take on the bus, and you might lose my friend, but ah, what a worthy road side oponent.

Busses are huge hunks of metal and mental mass, but they provide bitchin' drafts and keep you warm in winter. The exhaust is just the cost of going faster under a more relaxed power.
Besides, without busses, there would be no bus lanes to cut into :)

While observing bus passengers from my bike, I've often imagined a piece of art that depicted the the paradox between the two commuters saying to themselves, "at least I'm not in/out there."
