Lots of snow fell this morning. 3 inches on everything, including the towns roads and the highway. I walked to my parents house and they sent me to the iga to get food, since it was shitty outside they didnt want to leave, but they knew that since it was that way id love a nice bike ride. So off i took on the trusty mountain bike, the faithful steed thats been to hell and back a few times. riding down the highway and town roads with inches of snow beneath my pedals, I smiled to myself, and when i got back i called into work, saying i cant make the 13 mile drive (or ride for that matter, down the covered highway that a dozen cars slid off today). I spent the rest of the day making several bike rides around town, through the park, watching sledders, seeing the remains of violently attacked snowmen, seeing peope watch me ride by probably questioning my sanity. biking and reading, all day, instead of endangering my life, my expensive bike, or my shitty car working for 7 hours to earn 30 some dollars doing nothing cause no customers are driving in this.

i didnt go today, i might not go tomorrow
i think ill go on a ride

I'm Jealous! i didn't go to work two days last week, but that was mostly cause i got a scholarship and i decided i could stop working for book money. The result was me being free to ride my bicycle, it was a blast on the way out, i was flying like i was god, but then i turned around it hit me...at 25-30 miles/hour..and cold as hell, i don't see how people can ride against such wind, dear god i barely made it home, my lungs were frozen and burning, and so were my legs, but it felt good, no, it felt great, and i'd do it more but now i'm back at college, and my bike's tires can't handle the snow, what to do....

Or try like i did, my last day of work was friday, i ditched the car at the local kroger parking lot and hitched a ride home with my roommate. Sat and all day today is for riding around, and ill pick my car back up monday or tuesday. try it sometime, i used to when i wouldnt have enough tiime to ride to work just put the bike on the rack and go to work, then ride home from krogers. the next day id ride back into town. saves a gallon of gas and a kick ass ride is the result

see, my job isn't the normal job, i go to people's houses and show them pointy objects that i carry around with me, so untill i get a bigger messenger bag or a decent set of panier's i'm stuck driving my evil gas drinking demon i like to call the beretta, or Evil Beast. Now that i think of it, it is part Death Chariot :D

Though it's not work, it kind of is...today i skipped diving practice to go to a cycling meeting, and though i didn't ride today i gave me bike a well needed clean and lube :D tomorrow though, tomorrow i shall ride to the area of buildings that sell stuff, even if i must wrap me hands in t-shirts! it shall be done! i will get a pair of gloves! perhaps from the goodwill, perhaps i will still have a left hand. ;)

Before i go to work i plan on riding all around town on my mountain bike and leave trails all around for the cops to follow. If i ever do use a bike as a getaway vehicle ill be sure to leave a bunch of loop-to-loops and backtrackings and such to keep things interesting
