After days on end of seeing no new replies, merely my own screen name i decided to post a new thread, one that actually fits this forum;) What tires are you running for this season on your commuter? I had 2 26x1.75knobbies(off some pathetic huffy or something) for the winter snow riding, but prematurely put my kenda semislicks(26x1.90 back on the bike. They slip and slide alot, but the side tread is usually good enough as long as im not going too fast, but still lack the traction for packed snow.

Lessee... got the Panaracer Pyro XC's 2.25 with 72 studs per tire that I put in with a cordless drill, the nokian 700x35c studded tires (devoid of a bike to go on at the moment), Panaracer Fire XC 2.125s, which don't hook up at all on ice, but work on packed snow, and mutano raptors 29", also without bike (the nokians were going to go on the bike the mutano raptors were on, but the rear rim was warped and needs replacement)
Summer tires are pythons, goliaths (conti), and the ultra 2k and tt 2k combo on the track bike

as for what size i run, well, the only things i have on me roadie..which i was using all the time before my bianchi came...and 27x1-1/4 super slick as hell tires, course i was doing road riding, but they aren't that clean...
my bianchi has some fat 26x2.1 cause they're all i've got...sounds like a monster truck on the road, but fun in the snow.

WTB NanoRaptor 2.1, Ritchey TomSlicks 1.0, and some home made snow tires.
I use mostly The ritchey's but lately I have been doing alot of curb/stair jumping so I have been using my mtb tires.

Bontrager Revolt SS Kevlar 2.1 F, 1.9 R. They've never felt sketchy when moving from pavement to sand or over sand on pavement (very common in SoFla) and they've lasted 1000 miles under my 300 lb carcass with little sign of wear and no flats. They can be had for $9 each, I like 'em lots.

I'm running the kenda kharismas (1.95)I won in the DR raffle for winter. I plan to switch to Michelin slicks for the summer. One thing remains constant. Mr. Tuffies. GET THEM.

Ritchey SpeedMax Cross tires, 700X30. Sweet rolling setup and they track really well off road as well.

If your shop likes you, you can get em in wire bead for about $9 an a QBP order.

On my cyclocross bike when I commute I run a panaracer T-serv 700x25. Great for path, city, and super in the rain, not nearly the rolling resistance of my ritchey Cross Max. On my Mtn. Bike I keep my Mutano Raptor 2.3s on all the time, I drilled a pair and made studs for the ice we had this year in D.C.

Mtn bike - Panaracer trailblaster. Been happy with them so far don't pack with mud and have not had excessive wear from the lava rock either.

Anyone had good luck with the Conti Town & Country tires? I commute over 40Km a day on my MTB and my Vertical Pros are a bit much on the pavement...and a little too expensive to be burning up on the road.
