Ok- getting tired of this- I tighten the bolts on my paul's hubs as tight as I think is sane (dont want to strip them out) and I still can dislodge my rear wheel under heavy pedaling. what gives?

details on this:

the hub is a Paul Hub w/ brass washers on the outside of the dropouts.
sh*tmano freewheel
SRAM PC-X7 (or whatever) chain
spot 32 tooth ring.

Titus riddler frame with the cool replacable aluminum dropouts

chainline is straight as possible.

are the dropouts too hard? bolts too soft to get a grip?

thanks ahead of time. this might be solved soon with the addition of a king SS hub with funbolts.

If the dropouts are Al, they're probably too soft. First thing I'd try is replacing the brass washers and your axle nuts with steel track nuts. I think stripping the axle would be really hard to do, so I'd crank them down good. If that didn't work (it doesn't for me on a 1x1), I'd go with chain tugs.

thanks for the advice- the issue might be ending soon- I think my king SS rear hub arrived at my LBS.

Get some chaintugs, no more slippage no matter what the hub. They make life easy when replacing the wheel too, always the right chain tension.

Does anybody know of a chain tensioning device that I could use with a set of horizontal dropouts? NOT TRACK ENDS. I have had some slippage and its a total downer
