Should be available for your local Specialized dealer to order by the end of the week. They are in the warehouse and being inspected now.
Very nice tires. ~600g and higher casing volume than the ExiWolf.

Shiggy is not a shill for Spec. He is just the tire expert/affiacanado over on MTBR. I think he is just being nice and spreading the word about one of the nicest tires being put into production for 29'ers.
That's all.
he doesn't by chance work for the company that's advertised in BOTH photo's does he? I'd swear I keep smelling a yummy canned meat product in here. :D

Down boys. Teamdicky's right. Shiggy is just another bike junkie like the rest of us. The "company" is his own website. You might consider looking it over when you're contemplating a new tire purchase.

I forgot I had registered. I do not sell tires, just provide info about them. I have also never received a cent from a tire company. I have received samples from most of them.
I have a new pic of the Fast Trak and the Bonty XR 29" tires side by side, two of the largest 29" knobbies on the market. Full specs are on the charts on my tire site.

Shiggy, I'm sorry bro. It's just that we've been getting a shopping cart full of SPAM around here lately, and your post DID sorta have that aroma of pasteurized pork goodness at first wiff.
Later (much later, truth be told) a light bulb came on and flickered in the huge vastness of what's left of this old mind. "Oh, Shiggy! THAT Shiggy. Of course. D'oh!"
Anyhizzle, I was the first to call SPAM, so let me be the first to say. "Welcome back, and if you think of it, come on back some more". Beer?
Peace,
Dave

according to our specialized rep, they will never make a 29er. i would like to know why they put 29er tires into production if they never plan on making the bike, but what do i know, i am just a mechanic. specialized is a great company, but i think they are getting a little too big for their briches (is that spelled right?). they see many things as a fad, and won't participate, but saw the fixie boom as a way to make money, so they entered.

Here is a link to the story on why the tires exist: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?postid=912159#post912159
They were put into production because of the great response to the samples that were sent out.

i understand putting out a tire 'cause you make great tires and there is a demand for 29ers, but maybe they should start making chopper parts cause there is a demand for that as well.
i'm just saying, if you don't want to make the bike, don't dangle the parts in everyone's face.
great discussion though, it is nice to heard directly from specialized why they made the tire in the first place, instead of speculating on rumor.

He's also got some of the ugliest mountain bikes you have ever seen.
