So I posted a question over at NMBA's site about this choice of dates as the Wilderness 101 is the following weekend. If they deem it a conflict are we all OK with August dates already posed?

I want whatever date gets the most people out for this ride. Except July 5th. Something tells me that might cause some sort of problem at my house, it being my wife's birthday and all.

Looks as if it won't interfere with W101...from the forums at NMBA in response to my query:

"Most of the course marking takes place Thursday before. However, you do run the risk of getting brow beat into giving us trail reports, but by that point things are usually already scouted and cleared.
So in reality the trails will be at their best and you won't have to do anything. And even though the 101 covers some 65 miles of Rothrock, I sure there will be more than enough people on this board to tell you that it does go on any of the good trails. You could ride a different 30 miles everyday and barely touch the 101 course."

So WTF, Myron took the bull by the horns, but, he added confusion (maybe genius, I'm not sure ) by picking a date that has had no discussion so far. Discussion seems to = indecision, so maybe it was as brilliant as the original concept a year ago. But I'm still confused (sometimes it dosen't take much) is July whatever the official date? I can make it, but August works too. Less chance for rain is a good thing in my mind, which seems to favor Myrons July date, but we need a little bit of reaffimation I think.

Generally, this time of the summer in central PA is less rainy. This is anecdotal evidance based solely on my own somewhat addled mind.

The local organizers of W101 have assured me that there would be no conflict with race prep (and have offered to shoot us some beta and/or accompany us).

I say we use this as the weekend. I'll start begging for the time at work now. I suggest those of you willing to attend begin doing so too.

So I'm *reluctantly* putting together camping accomodations that would allow for drinky-drinks and ribald activities, and foreigners.

I also like the idea posed by another that everyone attendiong bring a sample (reasonably sized) of favorite beverage. It should be an example of something local/regional, and contain some smattering of ethanol.

If someone brings Mad Dog I will have to trot out the Iron City, damnit.

Peruse at your own risk.

Yeast, it does a body good.

Meh. I'll just let 'em know the week before. Or maybe I'll call in "sick" from Rothrock. What are they gonna do, fire me? They quit makin' 'em like me a long time ago.

Will grape be sufficient or are you partial to the melon flavor? Or possibly orange?

Also, do a search for the Griz Guides. It is well worth the cash.
