Jumping Tips

I'm looking for some advice on dirt jumping. Is anyone here an experienced dirt jumper, and if so, do you have any tips/tricks/hints?

I'm in the same boat. Kona produced an instructional video about dirt jumping called "Higher Learning."

I may have to make the purchase. Couldn't cost more than a wrist brace.

I don't have much experience jumping mountain bikes, but a few years back, I lived on my S & M Dirtbike and we used to hit some monster jumps. The only advice I have is:
-Stay loose
-Don't panic
-Pull up when you hit the lip
-Don't give up

Don't go out trying stupid stuff. Start out with simple stuff like a tabletop or an Xup. Build from there. Good Luck!

Just a few pointers from amatuerish experience:

Wear some kind of pads and or start off somewhere with grass or at least no rocks.

Make sure your pedals have some serious grip. I think I still have a nardsticle implanted in my liver from a slippery pedal.

Experiment small, aspire big. I think I read in a DR article that to ride logs and whatnot start by riding the lines on the street and on curbs, same idea. I'm sure you already jump driveway entries and well anything else that looks fun.

Oh and my riding buddy's favorite rule:
Hesitation is the first step to failure. Non adherence to this rule sent me tumbling into a rocky drywash in NV.

The former advice was all solid, these just a few to help you avoid my mistakes.
