Punk Bike recap

Foe those of you who missed the Punk Bike enduro, well, you missed a exciting one. The inch or two of fresh snow made it real interesting. Thankfully, the ground was pretty frozen. Big Mo and crew always plan out an awesome coure. It seems like they keep most of the uphills on the pavement or gravel roads and we are usally going downhill on single track.

I did much better than I thought I would. I have only been riding once a week lately. I managed to get second and fouth place finish on two courses. I would have had somewhere aroung a fifth on another, had we not made a wrong turn. I attribute my good placings to my downhill skills. Whenever the course turned flatter I would start sucking wind and losing places.

I did not have any good crashes, but I did see a few good ones. The worst was the girl(sorry, I forgot her name) who won the down part of the up down stages. She took a digger that I don't think I would have stood up from. She managed to rip her saddle off the rails, too.

Anyone else have any good stories. I can't wait to see some pics. I saw a bunch of cameras floating around.

Trailer Rail,
Thanks for going the wrong way and letting me win a stage after I went for the high wire ride of my life on the chopper.

What a stinking blast!!! loaded with frivolities...

Hey Lee I hope you are feeling ok!!! hows that wrist and colarbone? I didn't think that chopper could be endo'd but I was wrong!!! it was like a polevault or catapult... I am glad to see you up after that!!!

Yeah we (a group of 20 or so) went straight and up to stage one... we missed the turn... one highlight of that excursion was on that sketchy downhill to where you got the punk bike ticket up on that hillside... I hit that hill the second time with some momentum and made it clean and smooth...

a good time was had by all!!!

I'm doing fine, thanks.
No collarbone injury, just a sore wrist.
Ready to do it again, well maybe in a couple of days.

If there is such a thing as a "winner" at these events, then the kid that got the highest points without the aid of bonus trail maintenance points was riding a fixed Soma 29er.

Yea, That dude was fast. I could not keep up with him on the flat sections.
I did not know he was riding fixed. That would explain why he had so much trouble going down hill and over logs.
