On October 22nd theaters nationwide will be featuring a special one night only showing of of Race Across the Sky—a documentary covering the 2009 Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race. Shot and shown in high definition, the film offers spectacular aerial views as the camera crew follows the competitors over 100 miles of high-mountain terrain through extreme climate changes ranging from heat to hail, and from rain to snow—two miles above sea level.
The film features candid conversations with Lance Armstrong, Dave Wiens, and other elite cyclists who participated in the grueling race. There are also inspirational stories from amateur cyclists, including a Leadville woman who was critically injured training for the 2008 Leadville Trail 100 and came back to compete in 2009; a 45+ year old man who has competed in the Leadville Trail 100 more than 15 times; and a woman struggling with MS.
