Free Breakfast for Santa Cruz Cyclists
By: Jeff Guerrero

Santa Cruz, California is well known for cycling thanks to the likes of companies such as Bontrager, Rock Lobster, Kestrel and Santa Cruz Bicycles. Surf City’s cycling culture extends well beyond the performance-oriented arena, though. With numerous greenways, trails and bike lanes, the entire community is involved in the proliferation of two-wheeled transportation. A shining example is Bike Week, a week-long celebration sponsored by the City of Santa Cruz.
Each day from May 15 through 22 there are free events, ranging from bicycle (and skateboard) stunt shows to bike skill classes, races and perhaps most appealing to cyclists—free breakfast on Thursday May 19. Not only will participating area businesses (ranging from juice bars to suspension manufacturers Fox Racing Shox) be dishing out free food, Cypress Health Institute will be offering free massages for bike commuters.
