SRAM unveils revised Red group, confirms hydraulic disc brakes

We're going to diverge from your regularly scheduled mountain bike content for a moment because I think this is pretty exciting: SRAM's next generation Red road groupset will include hydraulic road disc and rim brakes, the company confirmed today.
If you're tried hydraulic discs, you certainly can understand how excited we are that they are coming to the road and cyclocross market. We have two disc-brake cyclocross bikes in for test right now and we're never giving up our rotors.
SRAM has bypassed the trend of adding an 11th cog or electric motors, but will certainly have the undisputed claim of lowest weight. The rest of the group goes on sale later this month, but the hydraulic options will not be available until this fall.
